Back in the groove

It's baking time!! I made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing. O-M-G. It took me the whole entire morning because the recipe for the icing I googled was a big fat fail so I improvised and made one up which turned out a lot better.

Original chocolate cupcakes

The yellow one is butter, the white is vegetable shortening

A big dallop of peanut butter

French for creamy!

Looks alright at this stage

Then it turned into a lumpy mess

Squeezing it out looked like a piece of p_ _

Looks appetising hey
Winging it with the leftover ingredients

Much better! The one on the left that is

Yay! That other icing wasn't even spreadable!
My beautiful little cupcake
Gotta love the stand
Oh great..its clean up time..

Rain rain go away

Don't come back another day.

Dear Mr. Sun,

Please come back, where have you been? I get sad when I don't see you. You were a constant in my life when I was living in Australia and I'm sorry I took you for granted. I'm sorry for complaining every time I got sunburnt on the beach. That was my fault, I should have applied sunscreen. Oh wait....I did, but it was only SPF 30+. I forgot how powerful you are.

Evidence of your super powers
See, that's how long I haven't seen you for. I'm slowly forgetting how it feels to soak in your warm rays or the way you make things blossom with your being. Did you know it's technically Spring now in this part of the world? I believe you should come out of hiding, that was what winter was for. The people need you. The trees need you. I need you.

Yours truly,
Ling

Vancouver Aquarium

I went to Vancouver Aquarium for the first time yesterday. There were beluga whales, dolphins, sea otters, jelly fish, crocodiles and so much more. My favourite would definitely be the beluga whales, they are SOOOOOO cute and cuddly. Well, maybe not cuddly, but I would cuddle them I could. I went a bit snap happy so enjoy!

A walking fish..OK..I made that up. I don't really know its name.
Beautiful corals.
Swarm of fishies
A leopard seal. I'm pretty sure that is what its called.
Other types of seals.

In front of the Beluga whale enclosure.
Such gentle creatures.

Aren't they just adorable?
Playing together
All three hanging out.
My favourite one.
Beluga whale poop. Fresh out of the bum.
Hello there Mr. Dolphin
Watching the dolphin show
Doing flips
And tricks
=
All in the name of food

I want a dolphin to take home

These ones were saved from Japan

From dolphins to parrots, what doesn't this place have?
Sloths, one of my favourite animals. Reminds me a bit of me.

Getting spoon fed.

What a life.

You can't see the inside of its wings but its blue.

Some tropical sting rays.

Look, one landed on me.

That does look a bit scary.

So fascinated. Ok, it didn't really land on me. I went and picked it up.
I'm sure I can take this one home without anyone noticing.
Boa constrictor

Exotic blue frog
Exotic green snake. I'm just calling anything blue or green, exotic.
Non exotic snake
A lizard of some sort
Gigantic tarantula.

Cocoons
Hatching out of the cocoon
Crocodile
Yay, starfish time.
A gangly starfish
A pretty starfish
A strange looking starfish
Some sort of coral thing
Now this one is awesome looking
Things you find in the deep dark sea
Can you see the starfish?
Jellyfish, so pretty...
Looks like its from outer space
More outer space creatures
I never see these ones in the ocean
Imagine diving in a pool full of these
Look! That's me!
